STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF THE KOREAN AUTOMOTIVE TERMINOLOGY, COMPLEX TERMS

By structure, automotive terms in Korean can be divided into: complex terms, terminological phrases, abbreviations, simple terms, and derived terms. In this article, we describe how to form complex terms for Kore- an automotive terminology. As a result of the analysis of the Korean terms on the topic “Car design” on the ma- terial of the Korean online dictionary of technical terms, we identified and described the features of the for- mation of two-component and three-component complex terminological units. In particular, the role of the lexi- cal composition of the modern Korean language (native-Korean vocabulary, Sino-Korean vocabulary, Anglo- Americanism) in the formation of automotive terms
