The Copies of the Universals of the Central Council of Ukraine the Collection of the Leaflets of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine

The Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921 was accompanied by the publication of a huge number of specific publishing products - leaflets. They are witnesses of the political culture of Ukrainian society, social psychology and mass consciousness, therefore they are an important object of study for book experts and historians. The article deals with the copies of leaflets with the texts of the Universals of the Ukrainian Central Rada, stored in the collection of leaflets of the Department of Old Printed Books and Rare Editions of the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. Features of the 11 leaflets with the texts of the Universals are considered. The printed editions composition and decoration are explored. The proprietary peculiarities of the copies are identified. The main trends of political and social processes that influenced the features of Universal publications are defined. It was established that copies of the leaflets of these documents were printed in various publishing centers, public and private, in different regions, in many languages, which confirms the mass dissemination of the state ideas of the Ukrainian Central Rada among the broad sections of the population of Ukraine and the Ukrainian population of the borderland in 1917-1921.
