Abstract
The article analyzes typical examples of modern communal conflicts in a megalopolis and possible methods of their settlement, primarily with the help of mediative technologies. The authors explain in detail and convincingly why the involvement of representatives of civil society in the process of solving social problems, in particular, communal conflicts, can become a way of mobilizing the activity of the population in a positive and constructive direction, demonstrating the example of effective interaction between the population and authorities
