Abstract
The author studied young adults (age from 17 to 28 years) hearing ability and cellular effects on young adults' auditory system. The audiometric testing results of 131 adults were used as the material of research. Time of cellular daily usage was analyzed for examinees, as well as usual cellular position (left or right ear) for them. It was found, that 38 % of examinees have significant hearing loss, 60 % of examinees suffer from impaired sound percep- tion on both ears. Correlation between hearing loss localization and cellular position was found in 82 % of students with hearing impairment. Thus, intensive cellular usage (more than 30 minutes a day) impairs auditory analyzer activity, affects thresholds of hearing for right and left ears, causing hearing impairment
