The Role of Libraries and Information-Analytical Services in Support the Work of the Modern Parliament: Foreign Experience

The article considers the understanding of the library in the system of information and communication relations. It is highlighted that the important directions of work of libraries activity is information-analytical one, its specificity and relevance for the process of informational support of work of parliament are determined. The model of the library is aimed at increasing the information, analytical functions, which include the most complete information support of the processes of the modern parliament. The versatility of the work of research services for the satisfaction of information and analytical requests of parliaments is highlighted. The library as a research institution in the field of information and analytical activity is in the seeking ways and directions for further effective work. In view of this, the scientific interest of specialists has recently increased in the new direction of work of libraries. The improvement of the social and informational role of libraries in the current activities of the parliament dictates the need to form new methods for organizing the information and analytical space of the library, which is implemented on the basis of research services. In turn, such information provision is an important part of the effective work of the parliament. It is worth acknowledging that in recent years there has been a tendency to increase the number of legislative acts adopted by parliaments, the global financial crisis has greatly revived the work of the legislature. Such trends reasoned further increase the role of research services and libraries in the process of prompt advising parliamentarians with a view to rapidly developing solutions.
