Abstract
The peculiarity of impressionistic painting and main methods of their realization in descriptions of the prose written by M. Kociubynskyi are being analyzed in the article. Landscapes which are used in the belletristic works by the writer are showed in their correlations with the underlying ideas of the prose. The interaction of painting and literature in the works of M. Kotsyubinsky allowed the writer to focus on the states and moods of the heroes, while not inducing the appearance of external events.
