Abstract

Abstract: It is stated in Qur'an that the world life is mortal and afterlife is eternal, and people are advised to make preparations in the world for afterlife. It's reminded in the 77th verse of Surah al-Qasas that people should work for afterlife(ahirah) and they also have grant in the world. While working for afterlife is ignored, the only goal and purpose is considered as world life in modern times. The world-centered discourse that is isolated from the life of the hereafter can be attributed on this verse. In the understanding of this verse, the narrated hadith “Work, for the world as if it would never die; work for the hereafter as if it you would die tomorrow!” is used as a hadith. Besides the works of tafsir and hadith, nowadays weak and topic based hadiths are conveyed during khutbah and sermons for different purposes. In our study, we will explain the grant of a person is and clarify what the narrative that is the base for the explanation of the verse is.
