Abstract

The article discusses the time perspective features of women who have lost an intrauterine child. The data obtained as a result of a comparative analysis of two groups of women who have lost an intrauterine child, allow us to conclude that the time perspective of women who have had an abortion and women who have experienced a miscarriage or a frozen pregnancy differs in the perception of the present and future. Women differ in the level of subjective control, satisfaction with their present, level of life activity, social and role functioning. Women who have suffered a frozen pregnancy or miscarriage are more likely to live in the present or past, believe that their future is predetermined, their actions can not affect it, and their future is poorly structured. In the present, their own life does not satisfy them enough, subjectively regarded as uninteresting, devoid of meaning. They tend to regard all the positive achievements of their life as a good circumstances combination or the merit of other people. Although in their own family, they take full responsibility for the events that occur in it. In the present, their emotional background, life tone is reduced, they feel exhausted, and the level of role functioning and social contacts is reduced. Women who survived an intended abortion, to a greater degree oriented towards the future. They plan their future life, set goals and are ready to achieve them. They perceive their present positively, filled with meanings, and emotionally rich. They believe that they have achieved everything in life thanks to themselves, and in their family they tend to shift responsibility for what is happening to other members of it. In the present, they maintain a high level of role functioning, social contacts and life tone.
