Abstract

Ships without load will not be stable so to maintain the stability the ballast water is filled in the ballast tanks of ships to maintain certain draft and stability of ship. The seawater which is loaded in ballast tank for ensuring stability has to be released at some point before loading which will cause marine environmental pollution. Strict regulatory frameworks are amended by The International Maritime Organization to ensure Safe Shipping environment and maintaining it from the beginning. It is diagnosed that the traditional enemies of the marine surroundings, such as pollution caused by oil, are now followed by other environment threats also. The damaging results resulting from the marine species which are being transported to new environments, via the uptake and discharge of ballast water. Maritime network is found to be one of the main threats to the marine environmentand the Ballast water which is transferred from one port to the another is being the reason for this threat. To triumph over this, a concept of ballast unfastened deliver has been advanced wherein ballast water alternate and remedy is prevented by providing drift-via longitudinal pipes inside the double bottom as opposed to conventional ballast tank.
