Abstract
Constructions of building are rapidly in urban area with irregularity. For the aesthetic purpose and for the multipurpose shopping complex irregularity is incorporated in building. In this research work primarily focus on excitation of building during ground shaking. This research work H shape regular and irregular building is compared with regular cube shape building. Vertical irregularities are heavy mass load, soft storey and setback vertical geometric irregularity. Study seismic excitation of twelve story building frame thirteen models are analyzed using software ETABS 2017 by linear dynamic analysis i.e. Response spectrum Analysis. Story drift ratio, maximum storey displacement and storey shear are parameters such as taken to compare response of regular and irregular building results. Heavy mass irregular is placed in fourth story for mass irregularity, increase the height of the first storey to make stiffness irregularity and setback is provided in different upper floors to make vertical geometric irregularity. Result shows that first storey is highly deflected due to stiffness irregularity, heavy mass irregularity increases the storey shear and setback effect the comparative storey displacement of the building. Incorporated irregularity extremely affects response of the structure as a result possibility of collapsed also high as combined in irregularities. In this research report comparison of all models had been studied. It conclude regular cube shape building model performance found better the other regular and irregular models.
