Experimental Investigation of Aluminium Reinforced with Epoxy Resin

Abstract

The effect of Aluminium 6065 powder filler (10,15,20,25,30 & 35 v/v%) in epoxy resin (90,85,80,75,70,65 v/v%) respectively over mechanical and surface morphology were analysed. This composite is fabricated in a compression moulding process. The composition 20% aluminium and 80% epoxy resin show the maximum tensile strength. The 25% aluminium and 75% epoxy resin show high flexural strength. The 30%aluminium and 70% epoxy resin show high impact strength. The scanning Electron Morphology (SEM) test was carried on 10% aluminium with 90% epoxy resin. The SEM images shows that the uniform distribution of aluminium 6065 powder filler with epoxy resin was agglomerated well.
