Abstract

Political communication is a discipline that examines the relationship between media, political actors and voters within the democratic political systems. In this sense, political actors are the first leg of political communication process and determine certain political message strategies oriented to target population to whom they want to convey their message. The main techniques used in determining strategies are shaped by the type of voters whom the political actors want to reach. After the voters encode and perceive these messages, by the way of voting feedback the political communication process is completed. In this study there is an up to date discussion about the political message strategies used in political communication.In this sense, the basic concepts and ideas about political communication and political messages strategies are elaborated. At the same time, the study is aimed to be an evaluation of the concepts and ideas in the literature.As a result of undertaking these concepts and ideas, it is seen that the political communication activities are not only a collection of activities that appear during the election periods, therefore the political message strategies are produced by the political actors continuously and dynamically.
