Abstract
This paper explores the potential of wind power by utilizing the buoyant airborne wind turbine technology. Entire world right now are committed towards reduction of greenhouse gas emission. And after solar energy only wind is a source of renewable energy which has the capacity of catering needs of entire global population without adding any toxic wastes to the environment. And unlike Solar Energy which does not function during the night time or under cloudy weather, wind energy can always be tapped by placing the Airborne Wind Energy System (AWES) at high elevation or fixing it to a moving vehicle for receiving the wind speed. Either case can contribute towards electricity generation using wind energy and in the process reducing the carbon based gas emission. AWES fixed to a vehicle can help in charging batteries of an electric vehicle. These electrical vehicles could further act as a virtual power plant systems which could give the stored energy back to society and contributing towards the dream of zero emission cities.
