Abstract
Refrigerationisdefined as reducing the temperature of a consideredspace by removingheat. Domestic, Commercial, Inustrial and Trasportrefrigeration are some of the applications. Phase change phenomena of the refrigerantwillprouce the coolingeffect in vapour compression refrigeration system and the coefficient of performance of the VCR system canbeincreased by using water cooled condenser, and by introducingshell &coilheatexchanger at the end of the compressor, and by sub-coolingusingheatexchanger at condenser inlet. Otherthanthese techniques, Fromliteratureitwasfound that Nano fluids have high heattransferpotential, increased thermal properties in comparisonwith the abovediscussedmethods. It was also observed that Nano lubrication will provide higher thermal conuctivity when compared to conventional refrigerants.Thispaperinvolvesexperimental investigation of introduction of Al2O3 nanoparticles in the lubricationoilknown as Nano-lubricant. The COP iscalculated at the different volume fractions and iscomparedwiththat of the base VCR system using R410a as refrigerant. The Nano-particles in lubricant improved the tribological characteristics whenintroduced in compressorVCR system which in turnreduced the compressorwork
