Abstract
All types of business involve risk. Investment in motor vehicles for commercial activity is also not free from certain risks like road accident, competition from other services, unavailability of adequate number of passengers, theft or damage caused to the vehicles during riots, bandhs etc. Such risk and uncertainty of income poses threat to the income and livelihood of not only the owners of commercial passenger carrying vehicles. This paper is an empirical attempt to study and analyse the various risks and other problems faced by both the owners and operators of commercial passenger carrying vehicles in Kamrup District of Assam on the basis of primary data collected from them
