Abstract

The article is devoted to the research of specifics of reducing manipulative strategy as one of the main means of modern information wars of the 21st century in mass media. The aim of information wars studies within the communicative and pragmatic aspect is the step-by-step consideration of communicative courses, the analysis of their efficiency and effectiveness. Such studying of information conflicts from the point of communicative and pragmatic positions has the essential practical importance as it can define effective strategies to protect information and psychological influence, to form a positive image of a country and also to serve as a practical guidance in national security issues during information wars. The language manipulation of mass media includes a number of strategies of speech influence when purposeful transformation of information and / or impact on the subjective sphere of the communicant is made. The distinction of such influences defines manipulative technologies, in particular communicative strategies and tactics whose main objectives are operations at the recipient's knowledge, his valuable categories, will, and emotions. Communicative tactics gain manipulative qualities, getting into the structure of the manipulative communicative strategy. The lack of specific tactics of the manipulative communicative strategy is the primary reason of obscurity of manipulation for the addressee. The reducing manipulative strategy used by modern English media (2015-2017) includes the “minus”-analysis, based on the facts of the analysis of a situation with the implicit expression of the negative relation to the described. Such strategy is realized in modern English media generally by means of tactics of negative assessment, charge and threat
