FIRST PERSON JUDGMENTS AND THEIR PRAGMATIC LOAD IN THE REACTIVE REPLICAS OF THE POLITICIAN INTERVIEWED

Abstract

In our article we state that in interviews politicians use the first person pronoun for representing their «I», relate this pronoun with personal coverage of their images in the positive light. Using this pronoun the respondent says what kind of activity he / she holds to be a good politician, it also: 1) introduces in the interview with the individual personal dimension, when a politician expresses an opinion about the situation under discussion; 2) indicates the action to be taken by the political community to settle the conflict situation; 3) manifests the respondent's competence, knowledge and responsibility in respect of certain problems. Political interviews appear to be not only a source of relevant information, but discursive and communicative environment in which the politician represents his / her desired image including, voicing the autobiographical events. The politician covers the information about himself / herself as a representative of the society and the separate individual with a life experience, based on this information expresses emotions and thoughts. The author focuses on the functions of first person pronoun in the politician's reactive speech action. It is stated that this pronoun and the correlative forms of the possessive and reflexive pronouns perform a variety of functions. They are not only a means of reference to the addresser, but also provide subjective opinions, stated with the personal position. The first person pronoun is a means of establishing the phatic contact with the audience, reveals a high degree of the politician's involvement into the dialogue with the audience. This pronoun can be used as an indicator of the establishing the distance between the politician's voice and the «Others»
