Abstract

The present work is devoted to the analysis of verbs with a prefix for expressing “some amount of action” in Russian in comparison with their Persian correlates. The analysis revealed that the seme “a certain amount of action” in verbs with a prefix is in most cases expressed in purely quantitative meaning in the Russian language. This seme can also be expressed by other additional meanings: the incompleteness of the act; Direction of action; Additional action and a small amount of time stretching action. At the same time, the seme of some of the action in Persian is reflected in adverbs in combination with simple and complex verbs. The identification of the semantic attributes of these lexical units and the elucidation of the linguistic means transmitted by the seme “a certain amount of action” in Persian constitute the purpose of our work. In our work, all Russian verbs with a prefix that denote a certain amount of action are subject to analysis. The choice of these prefixal verbs is due to the fact that they did not undergo special research in this plan in Russian and Persian. As a source of linguistic material, we used an explanatory dictionary of the Russian language in 4 volumes, ed. A.P. Evgenieva. Contextual analysis was conducted on the basis of authentic contexts derived from the information system “National Corpus of the Russian Language”. The present work also uses translation dictionaries: the Russian-Persian dictionary of IK Ovchinnikova and others; The Russian-Persian Dictionary of A.G. Voskanyan; The Persian-Russian Dictionary of Yu.A. Rubinchik
