ASSESSMENT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE STRUCTURAL DIVISIONS OF THE RAILWAY

Abstract

It is determined that corporate culture is a system of values, beliefs, ideas, symbols, norms of behavior, traditions and rituals that are formed at the enterprise, reflect its personality, manifest itself in the behavior and interaction of employees with each other and with the environment. To analyze the status of corporate culture structural units of the railway proposed the use of the OCAI methodology, which provides a definition for each of the six key elements of organizational culture (the most important characteristics of the organization, shared leadership style in the organization, the management style in the organization, uniting the essence of the organization, strategic objectives, success criteria) propensity to a certain type of organizational culture (clan, adhocracy, market, hierarchical). The analysis of the existing corporate culture structural divisions of the railway by this technique, indicating the dominance of hierarchical type of culture in the unit. Determined that the corporate culture of the division is non-uniform and unbalanced, since all four types of corporate culture have different strength manifestations, which is a negative point in the organization of the personnel. The necessity of changing the existing corporate culture through reorientation to a new dominant type — market corporate culture by reducing the strength of dominance hierarchy type of corporate culture. It is determined that the focus of a forwardlooking strategy of structural units of the railway should be configured on competitiveness, solve the set tasks and achieve goals. The desired state of the corporate culture division is characterized by the average level of severity of the clan, market and adhocratic types of culture. This balance of types of corporate culture division provides the maximum degree of its conformity to the requirements of the competitive external environment and the characteristics of the internal environment.
