CAPITAL INVESTMENTS PROVIDED TO THE FIELD OF ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY: CURRENT STATUS AND PROSPECTS FOR OPTIMIZATION

This article is devoted to the study of capital investment in the environmental sector. The article provides a definition of «capital investment directed on environmental protection». Capital investments provided to the environmental protection — investments directed on the acquisition of new and previously used tangible and intangible assets; or producing them by own means; costs of capital repairs and modernization carried out to protect the environment. There has been analysed the dynamics of mentioned financing during 2006–2018 in the following areas: environmental protection, atmospheric air protection, waste water treatment, waste treatment, soil protection and rehabilitation. The regions of Ukraine are ranked according to the indicator of capital investment in the field of environmental protection. The results received after ranking: Zhytomyr, Sumy, Ternopil, Kherson, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi regions have the lowest level of capital investment; Luhansk, Volyn, Rivne, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Zakarpattia get average amount of capital investment; Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia, Odessa, Kharkiv — have just enough quantity of investment; Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk — have high level of investment; Kyiv, Zaporizhia, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and the city of Kyiv — have the highest level of capital investment.
