IT SLANG IN THE MODERN UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE

The article investigates the features of translation and formation of IT slang units in the Ukrainian language. The translation techniques as well as their notions are thoroughly outlined and explained. The reasons for the use of slang units are determined and the peculiarities of their applications in the Ukrainian language are identified. Slang units borrowed from English in the process of their use are proved to assimilate with the Ukrainian language and acquire certain changes. Due to such frequent and global use, IT slang is stated to be the subject of research of many scholars, unlike other social dialects, its codification is more common. This paper proposes a number of examples which are given not only from the context of the computer field, but also everyday life in order to show the spread of vocabulary of computer origin in different fields. Prospects for further research on the proposed topic can be seen in the field of using IT slang in other areas of communication.
