Formation of sociocultural values of youth in education process of higher education institution

The article analyses the formation of sociocultural values of young people in the education process at higher education institutions. The problem of how to develop the sociocultural values of modern youth as a driving force for social change is considered. In the context of socialization young people are characterized by personalization, the search for their place in society, and the formation of specific consciousness and lifestyles in changing social conditions. The axiological component of personality education is defined and it has components with opposite logical properties based on knowledge and evaluation. Sociocultural values are defined as the basic values of life, the human being in everyday life and shape its social behavior and attitudes towards the reality of the environment at a specific historical stage of the development of society. They make it possible to highlight the characteristics of the historical development of individual peoples and States and determine their uniqueness and identity. It has been established that the special feature of student youth as a social group is that unlike other social groups they are not involved in production and the formation of their interests, principles and values are implemented with teachers playing a leading role in the education process. Factors of negative influence of mass media, excessive usage of the Internet, social networks on formation of sociocultural values of youth, warp of concepts of values and morals are described. The higher education institution has been identified as having the capacity to provide the younger generation with moral immunity, to preserve the basic system of values and its subsystem of sociocultural values, and to bring about destruction and danger. The system of modern Ukrainian education implies the search for completely different approaches to the discipline of education, to the whole structural-logical scheme of training of professionals on the basis of another system of values and other ways of its assimilation
