Abstract
Core-collapse supernovae are amazing explosions of giant stars that give birth to neutron stars and black holes at the end of their thermal power evolution. These are one of the most powerful incidents in the universe, play important roles to form and propagate chemical elements, initiate the formation of new stars, and are mostly connected to a subclass of disguised gamma-ray explosions. Thus, we have a vested interest in understanding which stars explode as supernovae, which physical processes explode, and which are the observable consequences of these catastrophic events. In this paper, we have reviewed the unsolved mystery of the core collapse supernova theory in great details.
