Abstract

This study was carried out to investigate the effect of Diagestarom and Biotronics top 3 as feed additives for broiler chickens in all alone and as addition to each other, on body weight, weight gain, food conversion ratio, liver enzymes and immune response to Newcastle disease were investigated. The study effect of these substances as feed additives after the challenge with avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC). The (APEC) has been isolated in Central Laboratories/ Veterinary Research section in Baghdad. The study was carried out by using of 300 chicks from Al-Shukr hatchery in Baghdad at the age of one day. The experiment chicks were randomly divided from the first day to the five groups, each group containing 60 chicks and were divided as follows 1- Group 1 Diagestrom used in a dose of 150 g / ton and biotronic top3 1 kg / ton with diet.2- Group II Use of Biotronic top3 1 kg / ton. with diet.3- Group III Diagestrom used 150 g / ton with diet.4- IV control positive group 5- V control negative group The all groups were immunized according to the following vaccine program (1 day Newcastle, plus infectious bronchitis vaccine, age 8 and 17 Newcastle vaccine with drinking water, in 10 days old infectious bronchitis vaccine with drinking water, in 13day old Vaccinated with gumbo L vaccine, (Except Group V control negative) after the ELISA test was performed. Blood samples were taken and the serum was isolated for the purpose of measuring Newcastle immunity and liver enzymes. Parts of the intestines were taken from different groups prior to the challenge with APEC and after the challenge to detect histopathological changes. At the age of 25 days each group was divided into two sections each section 30 chicks without the challenge and 30 chicks were challenged by APEC after the determination of half the lethal dose, the results showed that the groups that were used feed additives gave a significant increase at (P 0.05) in the final weight and the increase in weight gain and in the feed conversion ratio compared with the control groups. These groups also showed resistance to APEC after the challenge. The study showed a significant decrease (p 0.05) in mean of mortality rate incidence of the groups in which the feed additives were used compared to the controlled groups, while the histopathological changes showed the increase in the thickness and length of the intestinal villi in the groups in which the feed additives were used, in compared to the challenged groups which showed severe inflammatory changes.
