Organizational Determinants of Entrepreneurial Orientation: (With Reference to Small Scale IT-BPO Firms in Sri Lanka)

Abstract
Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) is a key construct of entrepreneurship and it is the proclivity of behaving in an entrepreneurial manner. This measures the degree of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurially oriented behavior is a critical requirement so as to consolidate the competitive advantages of firms in the contemporary turbulent and highly competitive markets. Thus, the objectives of this study were to assess the level of EO and to identify the organizational determinants of EO of small scale IT-BPO firms in Sri Lanka. The results confirm that majority of the firms are in the low level of EO. As to the independent sample t-tests, higher the management support rewards and time availability higher will be the level of EO. Autonomy and organizational boundaries were not statistically significant determinants EO in this study context.
