Abstract

Now-a-days, the self-service banking system has got extensive popularization with the characteristic offering high-quality 24 hours service for customer but the chances of misuse of theses insecure ATMs are manifold due to the exponential growth of intelligent criminals day by day. This paper propose much secure ATMs by the use of image processing. By this method a person can login to his account by using an image along with his ATM card. A new data-hiding method Adaptive pixel pair matching (APPM) is used in this system. The concept of APPM is to use the pixel pair values as a reference coordinate. Then search a coordinate in the neighborhood set of this pixel pair according to a given message digit. The pixel pair is then changed to the searched coordinate to conceal the digit. In APPM users can select digits in any notational system for data embedding. The image which conceal the secretly embedded message bits produced by the encoder is the called stego-image. The stego-image should resemble the cover image under casual inspection and analysis. The encoder usually employs a stegokey which ensures that only recipients who know the corresponding decoding key will be able to extract the message from a stego-image. This improves the security of the data that is being transmitted and achieves a better image quality.
