ATUAÇÃO DA ATENÇÃO PRIMÁRIA DO MUNICÍPIO DE COLATINA/ES FRENTE AO SURTO DE FEBRE AMARELA NO ANO DE 2017

From July 2017 to June 2018, 6,589 suspected wild yellow fever cases were reported in Brazil. Of these, 1,266 cases were confirmed, 1,232 were under investigation, 4,091 were discarded, and 415 deaths. Considering the described situation, and considering also the outbreak and progress of cases by the State of Espírito Santo, a scientific initiation research was made in order to verify and analyze the performance of Primary Health Care in the city of Colatina/ES, facing the outbreak of Yellow Fever in 2017. This research has an exploratory and descriptive character and a qualitative nature. The investigation was based on the speech of the participants involved in the study. Data collection took place through interviews with a semi-structured script, applied to the managers of the Family Health Strategy teams of the units that are included in the acting scenario of UNESC medical students. The consent form was signed by all participants after prior authorization from the Health Department and approval by the Ethics Committee (No. 2.395.675). At the end of the research, it was found that the participants had knowledge about yellow fever and its vaccination scheme, acting in the fight and control of the disease through immunization strategies and health promotion. It is important to emphasize that many participants do not recognize meetings and team discussion activities as capacitation course or training. However, these moments were of great value for the practice of permanent health education, as they generated qualification and establishment of strategies for coping with yellow fever in the city of Colatina / ES.
