Abstract

This article aimed to analyze the importance of continuing teacher education, and its relevance to the teaching quality process; and presents the actions that the Municipal Department of Education, in particular the Training Team, developed in relation to the suspension of classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The research carried out was of a qualitative nature, developed from the bibliography of several authors who talk about teacher training. The documents were also analyzed: the Operational Guidelines of the Municipal Education Network, and the Pedagogical Proposal of the Municipal Network of Colatina “TECENDO EM REDE”, as well such as the feedback that schools conducted through questionnaires applied through the Google Forms application about the survey of school actions. Analyzes of the bibliography and documents confirm the importance of continuing education in service, and that even during the suspension of face-to-face classes due to the pandemic, it was possible to offer education and teaching to students, even facing difficulties, the right to education was ensured, another factor positive was that teachers, managers and families realized the potential and weaknesses of the teaching-learning process.
