Trends of Credibility to Various Social Institutions in Ukrainian Society

Abstract

The purpose is to compare the trends and assess the degree of credibility among the population of Dnipropetrovsk region to the objects of different social levels as well as search for the ways to gain it. The study is based on author's experiential research conducted in the autumn of 2007, in the autumn of 2011 and in the autumn of 2014. General scientific and sociological approaches are used in the course of the observation. The following approaches have been selected among general scientific ones: operationalization and interpretation of notions; comparative analysis and synthesis; logical-historical analysis; chronological and formational approaches; methods of classification and system analysis. The empiric data have been collected using such specifically sociological methods as analysis of documentary source and inquiry through questionnaires. The article provides a comparative analysis of evolution and assessment of credibility among the population of Dnipropetrovsk region to the institutions of various social levels on the basis of author's experiential research conducted in the autumn of 2007 (just before financial crisis in Ukraine), in the autumn of 2011 (in the post-crisis period) and in the autumn of 2014 (in the hard environment caused by warfare in the east of the country). The obtained findings have been compared with the results of sociological monitoring of confidence level among population of Ukraine in whole at the turn of 2006, 2011 and 2013. Apart from that the overall condition of emotional state among Ukrainians and their readiness to deal with the revealed problems have been determined. The character and particularity of confidential relations in Ukrainian society have been also defined. The motives of credible behavior among Ukrainians who already dealt with crediting in transforming society have been identified. The study also found out the reasons to awake aspiration of people to take part in credit relations with reference to general financial conditions analyzed among the population of Dnipropetrovsk region taking into account the degree of wants satisfaction in terms of social benefits and services, demographic profile of respondents, their professional affiliation, place of residence, index of intellectual development, etc.; for the first time the character of social impact (positive or negative) of credit relations on the condition of subsistence fund of the population (by the example of residents in Dnipropetrovsk region) that encouraged the latter to alter its components (material, monetary, socially restorable) has been described. Theoretical conclusion proposed in the article might be used: firstly, for specification and arrangement of categorical framework in economics and social sciences; secondly, for more profound comprehension of nature and features of credit behavior, public mood and level of credibility of Ukrainian population and particularly in Dnipropetrovsk region to various social objects (from their fellow citizens to social institutions); thirdly, in practical activity of employees in credit establishments and private creditors to detect and correct the population behavior in the market of loan facilities; in practical activity of politicians and government officials to boost the trust of citizens and regain the weight of governmental institutions; for officers and managers in different entities irrespective of their activity to enhance the performance efficiency.
