Psychological assistance in overcoming communicative barriers of future managers

Abstract

Communicating intensively in social networks, future skilled workers find it difficult to overcome communicative barriers within the real communication. In this context, it is worth to highlight the problem of social development of future skilled workers in the regard of the processes occurring in the socio-cultural sphere of the information-oriented society. The results of performed diagnostic procedures are synthesized in order to identify the indicated barriers. Accordingly, the personal profile of the decisions made is of great interest, namely the identifying of the type of a retrieval tactic and the way of decision-making by the manager. This is an objective examination of the level of formed communication skills of managers and the existence of communicative barriers and strategies of their overcoming. In the process of analyzing the manufacturing situations by the students in the specialty "Tourism Management" and "Management (Management of Educational Institutions)", the following types of decision-makings were identified, as: moderate, impulsive, preventive, risky, cautious. Diagnostic procedures of identifying the individual priority of future managers in the choice of specific types of management decision-makings were conducted. In order to overcome the identified communicative barriers the elements of active social and psychological training within the classes of the corrective group were used. The forms of training aimed at developing the ability to use the personal resources in solving difficult situations and transferring the positive communication experience to others were offered to future managers. The main strategy of corrective work was directed to find out the significance and substantiate the necessity of the emotional intelligence`s development as the ability to go with ones feelings, control the strong emotional expressions and the ability to make adequate decisions. The participants were encouraged to get acquainted with methods of effective communication, which includes two interrelated spheres: active listening and effective talk. The final reflection confirmed the readiness of future managers to act in a balanced way at the stage of making managerial decisions, taking into account their own interests and intentions of the partners within the communicative process. The orientation of future managers to comprehensive diagnosis of their own interactive stereotypes, the desire to find out the causes of the formed destructive performance and be motivated to diverse corrective work to their overcoming is turned to be productive and contributes to professional growth.
