Abstract

The article is devoted to the impact of ICT development and the pandemic crisis on education in the EU and Ukraine. The article is concerned with issue of improving the scientific and pedagogical competence of teachers in the organization of the educational process online and remotely. Numerous studies conducted in European countries show that educators during the constant scientific and pedagogical updating must introduce the new methodologies and trends in their professional field, improve the level of digital competence. Studying the history and main stages of distance learning, analysis of its practice, basic recommendations, frameworks and standards of digital competences for EU citizens and teachers in comparison with existing practices and requirements in Ukraine allow us to identify certain general trends, features and characteristics of modern educational process requirements for the methodology of ICT application.
