A Comparison between Mechanical Sulcular Debridement and Debridement by Diode Laser in Modified Widman Flap for Treatment of Periodontitis

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease caused by a group of microorganisms attached to tooth surfaces as a biofilm. Therapeutic modalities aim to elimination or suppression of microorganisms, open flap debridement such as Modified Widman Flap is one of these modalities. Diode laser due to antibacterial effect had become popular in periodontology, however limited study was done on it?s application in periodontal flap surgery.
