SOCIAL AND PEDAGOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF LOCAL HISTORY MATERIAL AS A MEANS OF FORMING A NATIONAL-ORIENTED LINGUISTIC PERSONALITY

Abstract

Introduction. The article highlights the aspects of the forming national-oriented linguistic personality of primary education learners in the Ukrainian language lessons by means of local lore material. The importance of using regional linguistic material in the Ukrainian language lessons as a means of forming a conscious, spiritual, intellectual, self-sufficient personality, the bearer of the heritage of the Ukrainian people is outlined. Methodical principles of using the regional language portfolio are considered, in order to illustrate and concretize, strengthen and deepen the main program material, acquaint pupils with folk life, folklore, history, etiquette, customs, and traditions. Purpose. The aim of the article is to form a national-oriented linguistic personality of the primary education learner in the Ukrainian language lessons by means of regional local lore material. Methods. During the research were used the methods of the regional language portfolio for the purpose of structuring, collecting, fixing, systematizing, storing and archiving local lore material. Results. Introduction of the elements of linguistic local lore material into the educational process promotes socialization, patriotic upbringing, forming the national-linguistic personality of the primary school pupils, the bearer of regional lexical and phraseological, phonetic and grammatical features of the language. Originality. Using the regional language portfolio is an effective means that promotes: forming the pupils' knowledge based on the perception of the world around them; developing and strengthening the feeling of love for the native land; improving independent analytical and research activities; developing the skills to give a personal assessment of the read or heard text, to express the opinion about the homeland, family, history of the native land, folk customs and traditions, art, national holidays, flora and fauna of Ukraine, universal values, etc. and select, use the skills, necessary to achieve certain communicative purpose. Conclusion. Using the local lore language material in the Ukrainian language lessons provides an opportunity to acquaint primary school pupils with everyday life, activities of the Ukrainian people, calendar and household rituals, folk knowledge, social life, crafts and handicrafts, oral folk art. It enlivens the lesson, makes it interesting, gives an opportunity to better understand new scientific concepts, changes the qualitative characteristics of knowledge, expands the possibilities of perception of the surrounding reality, provides a connection with life at the initial stage of learning.
