Abstract

The wide spread of corona virus disease triggered not only the health emergency but also disrupted the economy around the world. The resultant lockdowns caused financial crisis leave alone the immeasurable emotional loss of losing the near and dear ones. In this commotion many small businesses saw an opportunity for growth and at the same time many were shutdown due to their inability to sustain. In the light of this, the study is undertaken to investigate the different strategies adopted by small entrepreneurs for the growth and sustainability of their enterprises. To analyse the objective a random sample of 170 small firms entrepreneurs of Hyderabad engage in different businesses is taken. Lockdown barriers and factors to overcome the barriers were accounted by using quantitative and qualitative research techniques. The quantitative analysis is done by using different statistical tools such as t-test, multiple correlation, regression and factor analysis. Whereas, observation method and flow charts are used for qualitative analysis. The study concludes that the measures adopted by the small enterprises show their inability to face unprecedented and unforeseen situation which has deep distress among various segments of communities.
