Abstract

In Hyun Jingon's tale "Lucky Day", the problem of the destructive influence of money on a human's consciousness and life was revealed. The analysis of the compositional structure of the tale's text showed a whole set of features that eventually determines its specific features: dramatic compactness of the events and acting characters, concentrated chronotope (one day, in one district, limited by the route of rickshaw rides), repe- titions of the most important theses (wife's request, thoughts about luck). The psychologically complex image of the main character of the story Kim Chomji, a key moment in his life, which was decisive in his destiny, is re- vealed. The process of transformation of the "great successful day" is traced, when it became a "great tragedy" for the hero
