Abstract

This research aimed at determining the knowledge-based training needs for English teachers who teach students with learning disabilities. It, also, aimed at determining the training needs for English teachers for behavior modification and time management with learning disabilities students and revealing the differences in the means of sample responses regarding the knowledge-based training needs and training needs to modify behavior and manage time attributable to the variables of gender and experience years. To achieve research objectives, the descriptive-analytical method was used, and a questionnaire as data collection instrument was used. The study sample consisted of (264) male and female teachers at integrated schools in the public sector of Irbid province. Study findings revealed that English teachers have knowledge-based needs to a very high degree with a mean of (4.27). They also revealed that English teachers believe that they can modify behavior and manage time with learning difficulties students to a high level with a mean of (3.85). Furthermore, there are differences with statistical significance at significance level (a ≤ 0.05) among the responses of the study sample regarding training needs for behavior modification and time management attributable to the variable of gender in favor of males, and that there are differences with statistical significance at significance level (a ≤ 0.05) among the responses of the study sample towards training needs for behavior modification and time management attributable to the variable of experience years in favors of (5-10 years).
