Abstract

The article discusses the issue of education quality in a higher military educational institution, namely the Military Academy (Odesa). It has been proved that this problem is currently the most urgent issue in the world of military education modernization. The concepts of "quality of education," "monitoring," and "types of monitoring" are disclosed. The description of the monitoring procedure as a pedagogical phenomenon with management inclinations is primarily intended to ensure the quality of educational activities in the field of higher military education and stands for the protection of the professional competencies of teachers of a higher military educational institution. It has been established that ensuring the quality of educational activities of a higher military educational institution can only occur under certain conditions. The principles and functions of monitoring research, as well as the diagnostic toolkit for improving the quality of educational activities in a higher military educational institution, are substantiated. We share the opinion of a number of scholars regarding monitoring as a means of objectively evaluating the quality of educational activities. Studying the quality of educational activities in the Military Academy (Odesa), we paid attention to the specificity of the training of future officers, examined the competencies that future officers (stakeholders) will possess. Monitoring research into the quality of educational activities in our educational institution allows us to predict further development of higher military education, namely: to improve the quality of educational programs in accordance with NATO standards; to improve quality management systems of educational activities in accordance with the regulatory framework of our state; to improve the level of educational infrastructure in a higher military educational institution; to improve the level of educational process infrastructure at the military academy; to enhance the quality of teaching activities taking into account the "activity" of the teacher, etc. Measures have been proposed to transform the military education system and improve the quality of educational activities of the Military Academy (Odesa).
