Evaluation of Basmati rice varieties for yield assessment and economics under farmers field situations

Abstract
The KVK conducted on farm trial and subsequently field demonstrations to test the adaptability of Basmati varieties under farmers field situation. The varieties tested were Pusa Basmati-1401, Pusa Basmati-1460, Pusa Basmati-1121, Pusa Basmati-2511 and Pusa Basmati-1 as check. The results revealed that yield increase of Basmati varieties ranged between 6.23 to 39.08 per cent over farmers practice. The variety Pusa Basmati-1401 gave highest yield of 59.11 qt./ha with net return of Rs. 111057.84 and C:B ratio of 1:4.86.
