Abstract

This study aims to find out the effectiveness of the course: “Nature and Environment of Palestine” in developing the students' knowledge of this nature at Al-Quds University. The researchers used the qualitative methodology as a case study and applied it to an intentional sample of nine university students and three teachers of the course. Several tools are used to collect the data: interviews, observation, and analysis of paper and digital documents. The study arrived at five main themes: the importance of the course, the course content, teaching methods, evaluation methods, and the feature of the field trip related to the course. The study concluded that the course is not effective in developing the students' knowledge of Palestine's nature. The study recommends developing the course to accommodate the national and global new issues, and to modify the textbook in order to be suitable for students' diversity.
