THE ESSENCE AND BASIC COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM OF SOCIAL PROTECTION OF POPULATION

The paper considers the necessity to study the nature and main components of the social protection system of population. The approaches to interpretation of the essence of the concept of ‘social protection’ in the scientific literature are analyzed and generalized. The functions, categories, and components of social protection and the basic principles of its implementation at the state level are defined.
