Abstract

The business community of developed and developing countries calls for the implementation of a new economic development model, the gist of which is to restore the role and place of industry in the economy as its basic component. It goes about re-industrialization, or “new industrialization”, that is the economic policy, aimed at restoring the industrial and technological base of the economic system. In the context of the continuing stagnation of EU economy and high unemployment, industrial sector serves as the driver of economic growth. The article provides a brief analysis of the goals, objectives and forecasts of re-industrialization in Europe as a strategic priority of national economic development. The emphasis is on the fact that re-industrialization encourages not only higher economic growth, but also improvement of its quality.
