Analysis of Tower Crane Monitoring and Life Prediction

Tower crane is widely used for construction and hydropower construction, which plays a vital role. However, tower crane accidents are increasing with the development of economy. The paper proposed a new analysis procedure. Firstly the causes of accidents were got based on fault tree analysis of tower crane, then the monitoring objects were identified. Some important objects were monitored and the sensors which were installed on the tower crane would transmit signals through wireless sensor networks(WSN). Finally, some life prediction methods were introduced and as an example a real tower crane was analyzed. To some extent it provided a theoretical support and reference for reducing accidents of tower crane and improving engineering efficiency and quality.
