Abstract
The peculiarities of the legal work in the higher education institutions in terms of changing authority order and territory statehood were studied. It is proposed to supplement the legal work in higher education institutions with such aspects, as the organization of work for improving the legal culture of employees and the legal support in registration of intellectual property rights on the results of the research activities in IHEs.
