Abstract
Changes in the social structure of the Russian village are very diverse. We have analyzed the socio-structural processes in the villages of the Republic of Kalmykia since the beginning of the 2000s, Social changes in the agro-industrial complex impacted on the rural population, its employment, the social status of different social groups. The elimination of large farms has led to decline in living standards of the villagers, the degradation of rural set- tlements. Considered the employment of villagers according to gender, age, employment. The author, using a variety of statistical information, the results of author's survey notes that in the social structure of modern agriculture of Kalmykia private farms (LPH) and households self- employed constitute a large enough social group
