Abstract
Clinical criteria predictive of the time of decay cavity closure in patients with destructive pulmonary tuberculosis during chemotherapy have been developed. 105 patients with destructive pulmonary tuberculosis were examined. It has been found that the important features predictive of the possibility and time of closing of decay cavities are: clinical form of tuberculosis, the number of cavities, the presence of alcohol abuse and the time of sputum culture conversion. The following regression equation was received: Z = 6.4564.907 * CF 3.682 * NC 2.169 * AA SC, wherein, CF - clinical forms; NC - number of decay cavities; AA - alcohol abuse; SC - the time of sputum conversion.
