Abstract

Kirghizstan has entered a serious process of religious development after the collapsing of Soviet Union. The state that liberal system was accepted could not interest in the area of religious education in the country since the Constitution and laws were arranged according to democratic, secular and human rights. This situation has encouraged the civilian enterprises in the era of religion. The madrasas which are the extension of ancient educational institutions have taken to the first place in the domestic enterprises and their numbers have increased rapidly paralleling to the numbers of mosques. The number of madrasas has increased 20 times while the number of mosques has increased 45 times in the last 20 years. The second important civilian enterprise is the Community of Proclaim (Tebliğ Cemaati) which is based on India. In order to invite people to the mosques and to give religious information them at the mosques, their followers visit people door by door until the last points of country. This community has currently had around 600 groups and more than 6,000 activists in the country. Although some external Islamic groups have influenced to the religious developments to some degree in the country, they are not in contradiction with the domestic religious understanding. The heavy activities of these groups have not affected people in terms of religious beliefs and practices, in contrary they caused people to affiliate to their own values. Multi-civilian works have firmed a fast religiosity in the path of Sunni-Hanefi-Maturidi in the country. But as lacking in terms of knowledge and experience and the risk of bigotry.
