ANALYSIS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP TENDENCIES OF STUDENTS IN TOURISM EDUCATION FIELD: A STUDY ON SECONDARY VOCATIONAL TOURISM SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract
In this study it is aimed to analyze and identify the secondary level tourism vocational school students' entrepreneurial tendencies. The study also examined the influence of demographic variables in the formation of students' entrepreneurial tendencies. Total 6145 students attending the secondary level vocatioanal high schools in the field of tourism in the Western Mediterranean region of Turkey including Antalya, Isparta ve Burdur constitute the population of the study. In the study, survey method was applied to 881 students selected by convenience sampling method. Obtained data is analysed by frequency distribution, factor analysis MannWhitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests. According to research findings, it was found that 11th and 12th grade students who had their own business idea and who had skills training in the previous years had higher entrepreneurial tendencies than 9th and 10th grade students. It is also seen that that there is a statistically significant difference between gender distributions and entrepreneurship tendencies of the students.
