Abstract

At the end of XVIII century the main theories and functions of education as upbringing process were formed. According to Catherine the Great of Russia, educational facts should be placed in textbooks, the ideals of goodness and beauty should be placed right there. Catherine the Great of Russia determined the tasks of materials for childhood reading. It was Catherine the Great of Russia, who allocated the range of disciplines to study at school.
