Abstract
The role of spoken idioms in medical prose is analyzed in this article. Often idioms included in the process of language game, structure and composition of idioms can be changed at the same time, key components can still stay the same or be replaced by a word or phrase. The purpose of such a transforming original idioms can be different: adapting the text to the reader, the inability or unwillingness to use slang, the need to use neutral language. All this creates a unique style. However, among the conversational and colloquial idioms there are a few that are on the edge or beyond the norm. Language game using such idioms is of particular linguistic interest
