Abstract
The article emphasizes the need to create additional teaching materials for teaching foreign students preparatory faculty perception of texts of popular Russian songs. The author proposes the development of lesson for foreign students at first certification level of training who speak English. The lesson is devoted to the study of the popular song "Yellow Leaves" by composer Raymond Pauls and poets Janis Peters and Igor Shaferan. In the center of it is the text of the song, which is accompanied by a system of tasks. The fulfillment of these tasks will allow foreigners to adequately perceive the lyrics of the song "Yellow Leaves" and develop their secondary communicative skills in all forms of speech based on its material
